Branch Profile

Relief & Rehabilitation Branch of the Office of The Deputy Commissioner is entrusted with all matters pertaining to undertaking relief measures and rehabilitation activities in the district for victims of disasters, both natural and man-made. It is a significant branch in the district of Dima Hasao where the terrain and weather conditions can be challenging at times with the potential to cause disasters. As the DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) has been created by state charter to be the nodal agency to execute relief measures in the district, the Relief & Rehabilitation Branch looks after all the administrative matters related to this subject with the DDMA working under the Addl. Deputy Commissioner/ Assistant Commissioner in charge of this branch.

• Receipt, scrutiny and grant of Ex-gratia to eligible beneficiaries
• Receipt, scrutiny and grant of Gratuitous Relief to eligible beneficiaries
• Receipt, scrutiny and grant of Rehabilitation Grants to eligible beneficiaries
• Maintenance of accounts of relief & rehabilitation activities
• Preparation of disaster management budget
• Management of State Disaster Response Fund
• Managing administrative matters of DDMA
