Branch Profile

The Development Branch of the Office of The Deputy Commissioner is a critical branch that looks after all development-related matters in the district. However, as Dima Hasao is administered under the provisions of the VI^th Schedule of the Indian Constitution as well, a significant portion of the development agenda is under the jurisdiction of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC). Nevertheless, the Development branch of the Office of The Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao, still has significant responsibilities along the development front. The branch is headed by an Addl. Deputy Commissioner and is aided by Assistant Commissioners and dealing assistants as well as interpreters and other Grade-IV staff.

• Implementation of projects under MLA LAD Scheme
• Implementation of projects under Untied Funds Scheme
• Implementation of projects under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) for mining-affected zones 
• Implementation of projects under Multi-Sectoral Development Scheme (MsDP) 
• Monitoring and evaluation of projects undertaken under the schemes mentioned
• Planning, execution and monitoring of any other schemes as notified from time to time
