Branch Profile

The Election Branch of the Office of The Deputy Commissioner is the nodal branch that looks after all matters pertaining to elections in the district and is one of the largest branches in the Deputy Commissioner's establishment. There are multiple elections that are to be conducted in the district which are to be looked after by this branch and it functions according to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India as well as relevant acts and rules like the Representation of People's Acts of 1950, 1951 and Conduct of Election Rules. This branch is looked after by an Addl. Deputy Commissioner/Assistant Commissioner who is designated as Election Officer and is assisted by a team of dealing assistants, data operators, Gr-IV staff and personnel from other departments who are deputed for election duties from time to time.
